Ward 10 Notes In Brief

Expanding Cell Service In North East Saskatoon
I am happy to report that SaskTel has finally completed cell tower improvements in Evergreen leading to better cell service and speeds in our neighbourhoods. City Council quickly dealt with all approvals for the new tower over a year ago, so it is great to see the network improvements
take place.

Improving Ward 10 Intersections
During the most recent city budget deliberations I pushed for faster road safety improvements in Ward 10. With the support of my Council colleagues, I’m happy to report that new pedestrian crossing lights will be installed at McOrmond Drive and Stensrud Road North this year and that traffic lights will be installed at Lowe Road and Nelson Road in 2023.

Pushing For A New Leisure Centre
I continue the push for a new leisure centre in our area and am happy to report that Council has endorsed a plan to partner with the YMCA and both school divisions for a new facility. The new building will be much like the Shaw Centre for the east side of Saskatoon. Please stay tuned for community engagement starting in early 2023 so you can have your say about this new amenity for families in our area.

Enhancing Community Safety
In the last city budget I voted in favour of eight new police patrol constables and most of these are being dedicated to East Division. This will mean more patrol staffing and quicker police
response times in Ward 10.
